About Us

Melbourn Amateur Dramatics Society (MADS) was set up in Summer 2012 in order to bring affordable and fun entertainment to Melbourn, Meldreth and surrounding villages.

We have grown from strength to strength and have now become a well established local group. Each year we hold a Spring Production and a Christmas pantomime and thanks to our collaborations with our friends at Melbourn Community Hub, we also have involvement with other activities during the year such as the Ghostwalk and other initiatives as they arise.

Our cast and crew members are made up of local people and we always welcome new members of the team particularly those with an interest in backstage roles or have technical knowledge in sound or lighting.

MADS is a not for profit society and we work hard to keep ticket prices to a minimum, but we rely on our ticket sales to fund each production.

Over the last 12 months we have been fortunate enough to have secured additional funding both from Melbourn Parish Council, Meldreth Parish Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council which has enabled us to buy improved sound and lighting equipment which has benifitted both our cast and crew and will also enhance our ticket buyers overall experience for each show.
